An emotional 3.000 km journey across the Indus River of Pakistan which in 2022 had its worst floods in history due to a heatwave that caused glacial outbursts.
The film intimately portrays the lives of individuals affected by both floods and droughts, offering a personal perspective on the environmental challenges confronting the region.

This score is a heartfelt blend of Urdu and Middle Eastern sounds with Western film music and harmony. It pays tribute to Pakistan while it also aims to resonate with Western audiences, to create a film experience that is both universal and deeply personal. Featuring live instruments such as the sitar, setar, tabla, violin, and expressive male and female vocals, the score aspires to achieve a rich and authentic sound.

Our aim was to capture and convey the emotions and stories on screen with sincerity and sensitivity. We created a central theme called "Zameen," meaning Earth in both Urdu and Persian, inspired by the words of the Persian poet Rumi:

در زمین بودیم و غافل از زمین

"We were on earth, but we were oblivious of earth”

The poem is sung at the end of the film, echoing the journey we just witnessed, while another version of it opens the film. "Zameen" represents the destruction caused by climate change and the loss of loved ones throughout the score. As the narrative moved through the different regions of Pakistan, we developed individual sounds and themes for each region, capturing the unique essence and cultural richness of each area.
